MIND-SET Training FAQs
Common questions from service members, veterans, families, and partners.
Who is MIND-SET training for?
MIND-SET is built for Active Service Members at every stage of service, Veterans continuing their journey beyond the uniform, and military families preparing for lasting stability. Transition begins on Day One—and it never truly stops.
Is this a replacement for TAP?
No. MIND-SET is designed to strengthen transition readiness throughout a Service Member’s career by preparing individuals and families long before separation becomes imminent. While traditional transition programs provide important information at the end of service, MIND-SET treats transition as an ongoing readiness responsibility beginning on Day One. Through structured decision-making, planning, and execution training, Service Members gain practical tools to manage career direction, financial change, family stability, and personal identity shifts well in advance of leaving the uniform. Supported by the GO-180 ecosystem, participants receive continued guidance and access to trusted pathways that help them make confident decisions before, during, and long after transition.
What topics are covered?
MIND-SET delivers comprehensive transition readiness training centered on informed decision-making, goal setting, and coordinated planning across employment pathways, financial wellness, housing, healthcare, education, relocation, and family support. The training prepares participants for the realities of life beyond military service, addressing identity transition, changes in purpose and belonging, evolving family dynamics, and the emotional and professional challenges that often accompany separation. Members develop practical coping strategies, resilience skills, and affirmations that reinforce confidence, adaptability, and long-term stability. MIND-SET also challenges misconceptions, stereotypes, and unrealistic expectations surrounding transition, helping participants confront potential obstacles early and replace uncertainty with clarity, preparation, and actionable plans for success.
How does GO-180 fit in?
Service Members perform best when uncertainty about the future does not compete with mission focus. MIND-SET strengthens readiness by helping individuals and families build stability early—so when deployment or transition decisions arise, they are prepared, confident, and fully present for the mission.
